Well you have probably seen at the gym a lot of these cardio machines will tell you your heart rate. What to make of it all?

I thought I had a general idea, but there are some interesting things I didn't know.

After hitting 186 today (I'm 32) that scared the crap out of me. As that is a bit high. Well I shouldnt be too worried, just don't continue going so hard. However, the excercise becomes ineffective at this point because your muscles are not getting the oxygen they need.

Here is an outstanding read about it, as well as a calculator.

I've never had it that high, when running I know I get to about 172. It was pretty freaky when I first saw it but it comes down quite quickly when I stop. My resting heart rate is a around 68

Thats pretty cool thanks. I was wondering what my heart rate should be for fat burn looks like it has been in the right spot. Basically a nice steady pace gets mine there which works well for me, I hate going all out.
